Cwm Idwal // N53.142 W-4.036

Tryfan looming in the background

If you remember in a previous post I had a small incident where I incorrectly loaded a roll of film into my camera so never actually took a photo. Well, these are the photos, at least these are what the photos would have been if it had been sunny and not raining, as it had been the first time I walked this path.

Thats the beauty of photography and also the bitter sweetness of my lost photos. The same photo is never available twice.

A stone chat defending its territory and a harebell

Nant Ffrancon and Cwm Idwal are becoming one of my favourite locations to shoot, the signs of the earths history are on show from the recent signs to glaciation to the dramatic warping of the ancient rock. There’s so much knowledge to be learnt in this important geological and ecological habitat which is home to many species of alpine specialists.
