28th September // Retracing Familiar Steps

Llyn Crafnant // N53.117 W-3.895

Feeling inspired from yesterdays after work outing I took myself on an afternoon adventure as the weather forecast had looked promising.

With my van in the garage I took the local bus to Capel Curig where I set out on this hike, which is one of my favourites in the national park. It’s always quiet and far from the crowds yet has views of Tryfan and Yr Wyddfa in the distance.

The route itself takes you along some of the lesser peaks, which though unassuming from the West are hiding rocky crags and a beautiful lake.

Despite the initial blast of sunshine, the light soon faded and I was hiking under the shroud of clouds, with the occasional burst of sunshine piercing through to illuminate the distant crags.
